What Bible Version Is Easy to Read Reddit

Which bible version is the easiest to understand?

My grandma recently gave me her one-time copy of the king james bible, but its very difficult to understand and I will feel bad if I dont take the time to read the bible. Just what's the indicate if I dont empathize 90% of it?

I cant really spend much money on a new bible, and then an app would probably be my all-time selection right at present. If there is a free app with a simplified version of the bible? Which one is the best?

That's my preferred version, but it's not the easiest to understand.

I would say the easiest to understand is the Contemporary English Version (CEV).

level 1

ESV is good. I would try to get a newspaper bible as information technology's less distracting. Merely ESV has an app.

level 2

I program on getting a newspaper copy later. But I nonetheless have all the same to get a task. Cheers!

The "youversion" app is really good. You lot tin can pick from a ton of transactions, and is complimentary. I like the niv, but it patently depends on your preferences.

I like the RSV and NKJV, the NAB isn't bad too

level one

New King James Version is excellent (....is the gateway drug to regular KJV)

level 1

If you're looking for easier to understand, I similar the NRSV. I also enjoy the NASB, but the NRSV is easier to understand while remaining accurate to the meaning of the text.

level 1

I like to utilize both the New International Version (NIV) and New King James Version (NKJV). The NIV is the easier one to understand while the NKJV is great for studying. The Youversion bible app is free and has a bunch of translations

level 1

In that location is a Bible app by YouVersion which has just about every believable translation on information technology, so that's a good one cease store! ESV, equally has been mentioned, is great. The HCSB (Holman Christian Standard Bible) or the updated version (Christian Standard Bible) follows the same essential translation philosophy as the ESV, simply in slightly updated/more than gimmicky language. So too a great choice.

level 2

It's missing a few books for the EO Catechism (Three Maccabees and Psalm 151, 4 Maccabees for Georgian Orthodox) on the only translation that has a more historical Catechism (RSV-CI) but it does wait promising.

level 1

Treasure the KJV Bible. Yes the other bibles may be easier to understand only it not a direct translation or the Greek llx and read revelation chapter 22 and verses 18 and 19. It says . Revelation 22:18-19
For I show unto every human that heareth the words of the prophecy of this volume, If any human shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: And if any human shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take abroad his part out of the volume of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

The Contemporary English language Version (CEV) is 1 that's very easy to sympathize.

Also the New International Version (NIV) is amidst the easier ones to sympathise.

level 1

I'm thinking ESV, NIV, or possibly NLT.

level two

What do those last 2 mean?

level ane

I agree, the "youversion" app is great. You can switch between dissimilar translations. I personally like NLT (new living translation)You lot can read a paragraph in a few different translations and option the version that works for you.

Eastern Orthodox

Honestly the RSV2CE (Revised Standard Version 2nd Cosmic Edition) is easiest in my opinion to understand. The RSVCE and RSV are great too.

http://world wide web.BibleGateway.com/ has the latter ii translations and more! You can also bookmark, brand notes, highlight, and favorite verses.

A downvote for contributing? Wow.
